Modabber Snatches Third Gold for Iranian Paralympics Team

TEHRAN Iranian discus thrower, Qader Modabber, on Monday brought third gold medal for the Iranian Paralympics team in Sydeny in discus throw contest with a new record.
Modabber, who holds the world record in discus-throw, hit a distance of 17.79 meters, 55 centimeters better than his previous world record.
In the meantime, Modabber won a bronze medal in javelin throw competition at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics.
The tally of gold medals won by Iranian Paralympic team now stands at three.
Iran has also bagged three bronze medals at the games.
Athlete Enayatollah Bokharaei won the gold medal in the shooting event while another Iranian athlete Avaz Azmoudeh won the gold medal in javelin throw contest in Sydney Paralympics 2000.
